CRJ update lag

Hi. After getting the new update, IF has started lagging a lot (especially the CRJ). I use a Galaxy S8 and before the update, it used to run flawlessly. Ive tried everything uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted the phone, checked my resolution, trying different internet connections but to no avail. I dont know what to do anymore, because the S8 is a powerful device and its not supposed to lag. What do you recommend? I could try the factory reset, but i hope there can be another solution. Also one thing i notice is that if i exit my app during a flight and enter again after a few seconds the sim will start to run very good again until it starts lagging after 3 minutes.

I have the same device as you, have you attempted to check your ram?

You might have apps still running in the background even though you restarted it

Ensure you are also not running in Androids battery saver mode. That can impact performance as well.

  • Does it happen in solo mode?
  • Does it happen in live at an empty airport?
  • Since it is lagging, try to spawn with a different plane.
  • Which view are you using that is lagging? HUD, External, etc.
  • I downloaded an app called “CPU/GPU Meter” that sits in the notification area and helps to see what it looks like before you start a flight. It is normal for the CPU to spike up and down. I found during a flight my memory was stable.

The CRJ is a VERY high quality Aircraft. There will be lag at some points during flights etc. But, you shouldn’t be expecting a lot of it. Were you participating in Italy today with active ATC and other Aircraft? Sometimes being in a busy Airspace can effect the efficiency of the Device.

Ok, after a few optimisations i made, finally its back to normal. Except the CRJ which is still lagging. Better than nothing at least

i have S8+ but i dont have any issue regarding the new update. Try to clear cache some of your apps, close apps before opening IF and any Add-on.

I have got the S8 and I don’t have any problems (Exynos version), even with the CRJ. I would recommend you to install the app “Clean Master” to clean up some unnecessary files. If you have any software updates then update your Android to the latest version.

Also, try wiping cache partition by doing this:

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  • When the green Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
  • Press the Volume down key several times to highlight “wipe cache partition”
  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight “yes” and press the Power key to select.
  • When the wipe cache partition is complete, “Reboot system now” is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to restart the device.

It will take a little longer for the phone to boot up after wiping the cache partition as it will rebuild those files.

If it still happens after these solutions, do a factory reset if you think it’s worth it. Make sure to secure all of your data before doing that.
