I just realized, this is how McDonnell Douglas went down, the aviation giant. MD was huge, one of the largest manufacturers in the world in its heyday. They had delayed the launch of the DC-8L which kinda started the problems. The DC-10 cost them quite a bit of money when it was made and lots crashed. Even a merger with McDonnell didn’t help in the long term. Eventually, they fell to Boeing. Maybe this will happen with Boeing and Airbus? Likely not, but we’ll see about it.

May I share something with you? I watched this before any of the incidents happened, including before the MAX tragedies. It brought tears to my eyes thinking about it now, this is one of the saddest but most true documentaries I have ever seen on Boeing recently.

Mind you, it was made made before the MAX incidents.

I need to watch that, I’ll find time for it.

Hopefully not, having competition has upped each companies game, and has had them make state of the art technology, just to stay ahead of the other. Congrats on betting regular btw.

Honestly I feel like overall the US aviation industry is turning bad. I mean, look at lockheed martin spending billions on this fighter, slightly better than the previous First Boeing, now Lockheed Martin!

I agree with that. Airbus is doing good, but Boeing is having a bad year.

How to not design a plane 101

Jesus Christ the majority of you all are ignorant of the aviation sector as a whole besides aircraft names and such. This isnt concerning nor uncommon at all. Get your heads out of the clouds and learn how common an air worthiness directive is and what it means. Boeing will not fall like MD, mainly because this is an AWD not some major design flaw and the such. Ya’ll are being incredibly ignorant of the fact and are just regurgitating the over sensationalized message from the news media that has no freaking clue what they are talking about when it comes to aviation.

Just like how everyone thinks the MAX disaster would’ve taken the best pilot in the world to save it. What caused the MAX to pitch down was a runaway trim issue. As said by many aviation experts, if the auto trim was turned off, that would’ve avoided the disaster that came to be. Pilot error was a huge issue in the MAX disaster and there is no other way around it. Like @anon2063420 said, this is becoming a sensationalized news topic. Yes Boeing is spending a lot of money, which they have on the the new fighter. It takes spending money to make money honestly.

Dont forget the issue with the 787

How come you came to the conclusion of Pilot Error? Isn’t it Boeing responsible to tell the FAA and all professional pilots about the new system (ACAS)? Boeing and FAA just made their mistake. Deal with it. The truth came out. How many whistle blower do you guys need to convince that there are some mistakes in the company? No wonder that EASA and other Regulators needed their own inspections and flight tests because Boeing came back their old fashion way. Now back to the topic. Stop the Airbus and Boeing Fan / War. Customers wants and needs a airworthy and safe aircraft because lives can’t be replaced unlike money or profit.

Who cares how many AWD’s there are, the post is about this one. I don’t care how many times the FAA has pointed the dirty finger at other airlines, I care about the one that they have pointed at an airlines that has lost lives as a result of negligence.

People in this country have been charged with man slaughter for much less than this airline responsible for hundreds of deaths.

You look at this and realise how much crap Boeing has seemed to get under the radar. The FAA trusted them but 346 innocent lives have been lost, millions of revenue wiped from airlines across the world and now cracks in the 737 NG. When will Boeing stop playing games with the aviation industry with their soft apologies and bad defence? When will they wake up?
