Couple questions from a young inspiring pilot

Hello. I just had a few questions.

  1. Do you turn off strobe lights in flight?
  2. Why do parked aircraft sometimes have their rudder turned to the side, is it just the wind? (will attach a photo for reference)

  1. No you don’t do that, not that I know of.
  2. Yes it can be the wind and also once the plane is shut down the hydraulics are shut off also I think.

1 No, you don’t turn your strobe lights off. If you had no lights how would you be spotted when flying overnight?
2 When the aircraft is turned off, some planes don’t keep the hydraulics to the control surfaces. So the wind just moves it around especially on larger aircraft.

Strobe and landing lights off when clearing runway after landing. Taxi light off when approaching marshaler on ramp. Beacon off after engine shutdown. Navigation lights off when de-energizing electrical system
