First Copa Airlines flight to Tulum, Mexico, 26 June 2024. Unfortunately this destination didn’t last very long due to the airline’s decision to suspend it temporarily because of Boeing’s delivery delays. It’s expected to be resumed later this year.

Departure of the inaugural flight to Florianopolis, Brazil on 25 June 2024. Brazil is one of Copa’s largest markets, with Sao Paulo having the most frequencies there.

This route was actually very successful, carrying more passengers than expected. MAX 8 has been on Manta too.

Copa Airlines challenged Delta Air Lines, by inaugurating flights to Atlanta from Panama City in December 2021. Delta tried to counter it by having flights from MCO, JFK and LAX, but wasn’t successful, they continue to operate daily to Panama from Atlanta.

First flight between Panama and Barquisimeto, July 2023. Unfortunately, all flights to Venezuela from Panama are suspended due to Maduro’s dictatorship decision to cut all ties with Panama, after they refused to recognize the illegitimate election results of July 2024.
