Copa Airlines’ Destinations in the Americas Tour: Chile
Santiago is the largest city of Chile and one of the largest metropolis in South America, founded in 1541 by the Spanish conquistador Pedro de Valdivia, since then it has been the country’s capital city. It was also the place where the first Government Junta took place, which paved the way for Chile’s independence, on September 18th, 1810.
The city has endured rough moments, dealing with natural disasters such as earthquakes, but also enjoyed a steady economic growth and demographic shifts, thanks to the immigrants that arrived in Chile overtime. Copa Airlines flies to Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport for their flights to Santiago.
Some interesting places to visit in Santiago are:
- Cerro San Cristóbal
- Parque Bicentenario
- Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino
- Gran Torre Santiago
- Palacio La Moneda
