We move to the east side of the island of Hispaniola, to the Dominican Republic, an important market for Copa Airlines. We land at its capital city of Santo Domingo. It served as a strategic hub for the Spanish in their missions to colonize more lands in the new world.

The city thrived throughout decades, facing often challenges like natural disasters and the sequels left by the dictatorship of Rafael Trujillo and the eventual civil war.
