Copa Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8

Copa Airlines’ Destinations in the Americas Tour: El Salvador

West of Honduras we find El Salvador, there Copa Airlines serves its capital city: San Salvador. The city is the largest of El Salvador and it’s the main economic hub of the country, home of several national and international company headquarters and also of several museums and cultural institutions. Founded in 1525, San Salvador was one of the first Spanish settlements in Central America during the colonial era.

During the last decades, El Salvador has seen several social changes and endured though and dark times like the Salvadoran Civil War (1979-1992), which has left the country devastated. After the civil war though, the economy started booming and the country returned to have a more stable and democratic government.

Copa Airlines operates at Monseñor Óscar Arnulfo Romero International Airport, for their flights to San Salvador.

Here are some places you can visit at San Salvador:

  • Joya de Ceren Archaeological Park
  • Museo de Arte de El Salvador
  • Plaza Libertad
  • San Salvador Volcano
  • Metrocentro Mall
  • Monumento al Divino Salvador del Mundo
