What are the proper techniques to stabilizing your aircraft during moderate to extreme winds?
One way is to use your rudder
How so, specifically? To what extent?
During takeoff & landing you can use rudder to centerline your plane.
While flying in extreme windy conditions I suggest you to maintain lowest altitude. Because the higher you fly, the stronger wind will be. (This advice isn’t good enough for long flights because you can save more furl only on high altitude.)
So if you met strong winds while flying a long-haul route, you can change your FPL or just flight straight and skip that zone.
Your question is quite generic. Most work dealing with strong winds is during takeoff and landing.
