Nobody pays attention to which runway they were cleared to land on or taxi to. I swear I try to use both runways, but everybody wants to use 9R. Without being able to issue violations, the problem never gets resolved.
EGLL is a nightmare, sometimes even on ES.
since you’re still on TS, I’d definitely recommend choosing to open other airports.
before I became ifatc, I usually would open at JFK.
the pilots there at least follow some instructions, not all of them, though.
but definitely more than the ones at EGLL
You are right. That’s why anyone who is serious about controlling goes to a different airport. Choose a smaller airport, make an ATC tracking thread here to update people that you are active, and have users who actually want to abide by the rules come fly under your watch. But choosing to control at EGGL or LAX, or any of the other big and popular airports is not going to go well.
at least this brought my operations number close to the 500 i need to become Ifatc
On the few occasions I flew to EGLL on the training server, I chose the runway with the least congestion, and followed all the instructions from the ATC.
I’ll say this for starters: LAX
LHR: They are both nightmares on the Training Server and Expert Server. The only difference is that LAX has 2 more runways to work with, so it sort of eases the tension. Plus, The Expert Server is stricter so if you’re having a hard time controlling, just issue a violation.
Violations on The Expert Server are handed out like free water. If anyone makes a wrong move, issue them a Level 3. It happens all the time.
If people misbehave at LHR, just issue the violation. All controllers issue violations when airports are busy because it makes it easier to control.
hm.. not exactly how that works.
violations cannot be handed out freely. They always come with a reason, really.
as IFATC, we are strictly monitored in regards to violations, and as well in controlling standards.
That sounds about right, but when it comes time to appeal a violation, the controller usually has the winning vote. The pilot is given their chance to rectify their situation only about 5% of the time.
That’s true, and unfortunately many players enter the expert server without knowing how to communicate with the ATC, and from my own experience playing with ATC on the training server, some players didn’t even know how to control the plane correctly
i got my 500 operations today and today ifact closed for new member, what rotten luck
hm? what happened?
The link leads nowhere now. i can’t fill the application
oh that’s strange..
what about this one: does this one works for you?
It does! TKS. Already signed in
nice, great to hear that!
I wish you luck with your ifatc journey. ![]()
I disagree with this statement. Appeals require the pilots raw replay file in order to be in the pilots “shoes” so to say and see exactly what the pilot was seeing and possibly “thinking” in that moment where a violation was received. This way the pilot is actually the one given the benefit until it is shown that the pilot deserved the violation. Lastly, ones that are an incorrect violation or issued for incorrect “reasons” are discussed with controllers as a learning experience and as khey mentioned controllers are monitored and trends are noted and any controller abusing the report feature is handled by sups and mods
Yeah, but EGLL is the busiest, so I also sometimes operate on TS
I want proper practice opportunity before apply IFATC…
EGLL on TS is the exactly opposite for a proper practice opportunity..
that airport in ES, and let alone TS, is just painful.
keep in mind you can always join the atcmh for better guidance
atcmh? Never heard of that
it’s a mentorship hub. They’ll be able to guide you through for the local, and also the written tests required
they even helped me a lot, in my first few days in irhe community
at least with them, there’s actual reliable pilots to train with. >:3
