I never thought the DC-10 came with Winglets… wow. I only know that the MD-11 comes with it. Nice livery though :)
Oh My, I can’t stand this thing, the winglets, oh my gosh.
No harm intended.
Wow this is a nice livery
Some do some dont
Apparently, this is the only known DC-10 to have winglets. NASA installed them to test it, and chose N68048 as the test plane (which was used by CO at the time). The Winglets only reduced fuel consumption by 3%, and was not certified as a retrofit after the tests were finished. The same Winglets were then used on the MD-11’s when it was introduced.
Back on topic now
My reaction when I first saw a 727 with Winglets. Btw, anyone know if there’s a specific name of this variant? Is it just DC-10-__W?
I think there is no specific variant 🤔
Yeah, I checked. Under the registration of this aircraft, it shows ‘Douglas DC-10-10’.
I think this was one-of-a-kind & was used to test winglets.
Does anyone when this was? What year?
Love that livery but the winglets don’t really appeal to me…
Hope it gets added with the Dc-10
It was in 1981
Wow, that looks out of place.
I really am enjoying the classic liveries I am seeing at airports recently. That DC-10-10 is a beauty, looking forward to seeing the IF DC-10/MD-11 and what colors she can wear.
Oh my,This is a beauty, the Winglets of a 767 on a DC-10
We need This
