Constant "Crackling" Sound While Flying

Device: iPad 10 Generation
Operating system: Latest

From the moment I started my engines in Brisbane and for the last 10-ish hours, there’s been a constant crackling sound (almost like static) coming from my iPad. This is on the A330. I decided to restart my iPad and respawn, with the same results before I took off. There are no background apps running, and when I tested it on a YouTube video, other audio plays just fine. Is this something with the audio file for the engines or something? I can hear ATC transmissions just fine.

I hear this sound sometimes while flying too, sometimes resulting in a app crash

It is a very similar sound, but with no crash. It’s been happening for almost 11 hours straight at this point.

Have you checked you speakers externally and the settings within the settings app and the simulator itself? I have had this before but it was not much of an issue

I checked my speakers with other audio (from YouTube) which was totally fine. Nothing appears wonky anywhere in settings.

I wish I could hear what it is from your end to see but if it doesn’t harm your flight in any way, it should be harmless

When I get home, I’ll try and take a video of it from my phone.

This also happens to me, and it either results in a temporary freeze or a crash

I’ve experienced this with zoom calls and traced it to my cpu being pegged at 100% usage causing a crackling like noise. Maybe something similar is happening here with infinite flight? I know iOS kills apps (could explain the crashing) that take too many resources, so maybe there’s a link?
