Connection Issues While Communicating With ATC

Hi everyone! This might have been asked before (so I’m sorry for not looking enough), but I wanted to ask if anyone has experienced this before. I was taxiing after having received clearance at LAX earlier today but I suddenly had an internet outage at home and was disconnected from the server. I quickly reconnected with a hotspot but I was left wondering what I should’ve done, whether how to communicate with ATC afterwards, pause my taxiing, or what. I wouldn’t want the ATC to think that I just left without properly asking. ATC didn’t tell me anything but just in case if it happens again, any thoughts?

Hiya! Welcome to the community!

You don’t need to ask ATC if you can leave the session, lol. And even if you did leave, you would have to start again at the gate. However, if you disconnected, and then reconnect again, without any issues/reports (as such in your situation, then that’s a different story.

It depends on what happens. If you reconnected after disconnecting, and you weren’t taxing through other aircraft, then there really is no need to DM/communicate with the conteoller (unless you still want to). However, if you reconnect and you are inside of an aircraft/taxing through other aircraft, then I strongly encourage you to communicate your issue with the controller.

Also if I may ask, what server were you on?
