Connection issue

Hello. This is my first topic in the #support category.

I started a 10-hour A350 flight in Expert Server. About 2 hours in, I had to go off the app to attend to something for about 30 minutes. When I returned right after, I was disconnected from the live server, saying “disconnected NetworkError.” At first, I thought it was just going to reconnect quickly like usual. Five minutes later, it didn’t reconnect. However, the live weather was still working just fine, and the winds and temperature and turbulence were updating normally. Even so, I tested my internet connection, and it also was working just fine. Then I figured that this was a problem with Infinite Flight and not my device. I need a way to re-connect to the server. It would be a real bummer if I had to start my flight all over again.

Note: I have IF-assistant downloaded, and that also disconnected from IF.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hey there @Zabloo!
First of all, when you said “you had to go off the app”, do you mean you exited the app, or you just let the flight run without supervision?

This should be the reason why you have lost connection to the live servers. You cannot leave the app to do something else simply because you cannot pause an online server. You could try turning on airplane mode for 30 seconds but if you are lucky you might reconnect. The true solution is not to leave the app while connected to the online servers. 👍

Sorry. I exited the app :)

Well, yes. After a certain period of time, IF will disconnect from servers if the app is not open, regardless of whether you are flying or not. If you leave the app for 1-2 minutes usually that’s fine, but for extended periods of time, like 30 minutes, you will be automatically disconnected. If you could, I would suggest leaving your plane, as long as its on autopilot, unattended while you are not in a critical phase of flight (e.g. cruising). However, you should always attend your device during critical phases of flight (takeoff, landing, ascent, descent, etc.)

Hope this helps, and have a good rest of the weekend!
