Confused with gates

Most of the popular ones do right?

Back up and park where you want

Why would he do that? If he wanted to be realistic, he would want to pick a gate that corresponds to his plane.

Well, if he misjudged his parking spot, what other options does he have with the current limitations of IF?

Well, when I accidentally park at the wrong gate, I just pretend it’s the right spot and end my flight. I don’t think there’s a realistic procedure for picking the wrong spot (correct me if I’m wrong)

Haha yeah sometimes I also park at a gate that is too small for my plane plus it’s not even a gate it’s a cargo hold/de-icing area I just end flight.

Not going to pay big bucks just to find out which gate is suitable for my aircraft…

To prevent this from happening I’ll either land at airports where I roughly know which terminal is at and where the gates are. Otherwise I’ll just search wikipedia for the terminal info and their location within the airport.

A general rule of thumb though, most heavy gates at smaller airports are located at the end of the terminal.

I used FlightAware or Flightstats

I have all of the IF as edited parking spots in my Google Drive maps - free
