Confused with gates

Hello, so you have any advice how can I reach the wanted gate? Since there are no 3D buildings I get confused… Now I landed in LOWW with a big dream liner but accidentally parked in the tiny planes parking which is nerbay the big gates… It’s really annoying and unrealistic. What can I do?

You should look at the outlines around the gate if there are any, these are a good indicator of the gate sizes. Also if you look at how close each gate is you would reside that it’s for smaller planes of larger one depending on how close they are to each other. Once you land use the free cam or LiveFlight airport charts and check what gates best.

As @Chatta290 it is good to find the ground charts of an airport that list the gate# and then find a comparable flight with a comparable aircraft and park at the same gate. This information (for a comparable flight) can be found on Flight Aware.

VirtualHub has gate info available as well.

In virtual hub there is a map without number

Personally, I use a combination of Google Maps, airport charts, LiveFlight, and Flightradar24. The first three give me a sense of what size aircraft park in each gates, and Flightradar24 can show you what gate a flight leaves from/arrives at, using their replay flight feature.

If you go to the app, use menu>gate info, find LOWW. It should look like this:

I you zoom in more, you can see individual gate info regarding what goes there:

At some airports, you can use the app to find a little more detail. At the home option, you can look up an airport that they’ve covered (ex, KSFO), and you can find this:

I use LiveFlight, works for me.

Unfortunately, you have to pay for gate info, but I’m sure it works as well :)

I just compare the map or chart with what I can see from the free cam. Once I’m pretty sure I’m at the right gate, or at least at the right area and have a gate big enough, I pull in and park.

Like I said, it only works for certain airports. However, you can look up gate info for any airport using the instructions previously listed.

Can you send me the exact link? Can’t find it…

Note that not all flights/airports have an exact gate listing on FlightAware.

you might want to look up some gates/taxiway map of the airport you are flying in/out

You can use IF charts and look up what airline goes to each terminal, as the chart tells you which terminal is which.

You mean this one? It’s pre-global, as in it doesn’t have LOWW or anything that was added after the global update. It’s also all information one can find with a simple google ;)

(Correct me if this is the wrong one @Tnel)

You’re right, but you could also just look up the actual charts.

The problem is, some airports don’t list the gates with airline information… I think.
