Flight Assignment Role Information

This Operation is a team exercise. Your flight will either be defending or engaging your area of responsibility. These roles are known as Red and Blue Air. This training is common place in air forces internationally it trains pilots in the tactics they can expect in various scenarios they may encounter. Red air will launch first and hold over the FEBA line preparing to defend the objective. Once Red Air has made it over the FEBA Blue Air can launch and prepare to engage and escort the strike package of A-10s to the target.

How to defend

Pilots are able to defend their designated areas by engaging incoming aircraft once they are within 50nm from their own aircraft. Replay will play a valuable resource in these engagements. Pilots will be able to track their splashes via the replay. To score a confirmed splash your HUD should look like this.

Aircraft must be visible in your HUD for 10 seconds. This confirms the splash. This system relies on both replay and integrity of the pilots. The lock can be broken by the other aircraft staying out of visual range.

Regeneations

Once an aircraft is downed they will have the opportunity to regenerate out side of the battle space. Aircraft are allowed 1 regeneration. How pilots will regenerate is by existing the marked boundary and then holding for 20 seconds then re-enter the battle space.

Forward Edge of Battle Area (FEBA)

The FEBA begins at: 3727N/11434W and ends at 3727N/11400W any aircraft over this line are open to be engaged. This line also separates reds staging area to the North and Blues staging area to the South.

Target Objective

RED AIR will defend a small airfield ICAO 1L1. Blue air must not get their strike package to the air field. During 2nd go the roles will be reversed and Blue will defend. Mission ends when either all enemies are downed or strike package is downed.Strike package must take a snapshot over the target area at 3,000ft over the runway to confirm destruction.

Absolutely, which flight?

What are the KC-10s doing? Also, I will take BUICK with @Nate_Schneller

KC-10s will be non targetable but will serve as fuel stations for fighters if they need fuel to stay in the fight.
I’ll get you signed up for BUICK2.

Callsigns are assigned by flight but if you wish to take a flight lead role several 1 slots are open :).

What would a flight lead role do?

Basicaly you would be leading the assigned flight, directing wingmen to targets to engage.

I can do that. Add me for that role instead of JOKER.
