Cloud Settings

What settings do you typically use for realistic clouds? I see many people set it few, but some set it broken. How about you?

The vast majority of the time, I go with maximum broken at 50.000ft, I don’t like the clouds to be below me I don’t think they look that good.

I usually set it to Few - 25.500 ft. I don’t know if it’s realistic or not.

This is exactly my setting as well. Cirrus layers are typically above 20.000 ft. So all good. It’s up what you prefer.

I put them in ā€œbrokenā€ , and put them at 22500 feet for adding some realism, but not so much as the clouds are flat and not so realistic, but anyway we have them!

I put them at Broken@39000ft as 39000ft is roughly the middle of the range at which cirrus clouds appear.

I always fly with clouds under me. So just scatered cloud level at 20.000 feet. That looks for me the most realistic. @NguyenKhaDuy

You could always change your cloud type during your flight. But a bit between scatered and broken clouds is the most realistic for me.

I use the Latest METAR either at or closest by the route … This is ALL Higher level cloud 190-400FT so (CI)Cirrus clouds aren’t That wispy simulated yet it looks more like (CS) Cirrostratus and that also is cool cause it gives a HALO (Parhelia) Effect or in the North here called ā˜€ļø Sundogs .
