Nice job! Obviously it’s tough to see what you need to work on since I was the only aircraft in the pattern, but what I saw was good. Good job with the exit command - a lot of people forget that :)

By the way, your profile says that you’re an ATC trainee. If you’re already IFATC, why are you asking for help?

Oh, I misunderstood. ATC trainee is the title you are given when you first join the program. My bad ;)

I would advise getting in contact with an official IFATC Scouter to help your train, and make sure you’re ready for you test if you haven’t contacted one already :)

I think you did a good job overall. One thing I remember was after I initially took off there was other aircraft in the pattern. You gave me a clearance for the option but no direction after the option. Pilots who have common sense will be able to tell where to go but you can never give enough info. All in all a small thing but you seem ready imo

When you took of did you do you ask for remaining in the pattern?

The scout I work with and my recruiter both remarked on not using a directional instruction when clearing an aircraft so I’ll stick to keeping it brief but like you said a pilot with common sense knows his/her stuff! Thanks for coming along it was much appreciated!

They are right about this. It is inherently understood that the pilot should continue to follow the same direction in the pattern. You will have less trouble with pilots not understanding this and not following instructions in general on the Expert Sever.

The hint is in the name “Pattern”
It’s a repetitive sequence of events hence why nothing changes! But it also reduces frequency clutter which is a big issue especially at Class B Airports

Yes and I was told make left traffic. But once I was making my final descent there was traffic on the left side. That’s why I said it. But if you’re not supposed to then my mistake.

Not supposed to give a “direction after the option” unless a change is to be made. Understood to continue same direction. :)
