[Closed] IFAO Boeing 747-8 Delivery Flight @ KBFI - 152000ZNOV15

Just took the B747-8F to the air, KPDX-KBFI. Made it 12-member crew only and less than 100k of luggages. The bird was much easier to handle than the last one ;-)) Can’t wait for the Delivery Flight event~~

Hey everyone,

You all are probably aware of the Boeing 747-8 Delivery Flight on Sunday. It’s going to be postponed to next weekend. That means it will be on the 15th of November, instead of the 8th.

We postponed it because iOS users do not have the FDS 747-8 yet, and there will be no guarantee that it will be released before the update.

Sorry for any inconveniences this created.

Good idea, on it!

It starts with the Dead, the Grateful Dead …

Old School Hippie History from an old Hippie that lives in Marin …

It was Christmas week in Oakland, 1990. Steven Bloom was wandering through The Lot - that timeless gathering of hippies that springs up in the parking lot before every Grateful Dead concert - when a Deadhead handed him a yellow flyer.

“We are going to meet at 4:20 on 4/20 for 420-ing in Marin County at the Bolinas Ridge sunset spot on Mt. Tamalpais,” reads the message, which Bloom dug up and forwarded to the Huffington Post. Bloom, then a reporter for High Times magazine and now the publisher of CelebStoner.com and co-author of Pot Culture, had never heard of “420-ing” before.

The flyer came complete with a 420 back story: “420 started somewhere in San Rafael, California in the late '70s. It started as the police code for Marijuana Smoking in Progress. After local heads heard of the police call, they started using the expression 420 when referring to herb - Let’s Go 420, dude!”

And, since it’s just a personal choice, that’s the last I’ll speak of it to stay on topic, aviation

Peace

Couldn’t stay up that late for the event. Anyways, just did a B747-8i FDS flight from KBFI to KPDX, with a 7000ft flyby at 21W. The slow-speed test continued from KBFI’s takeoff to 21W flyby, with full flaps, gear down and at 160t…

Very nice man! The area surrounding 21W is very cool. :)

@Henrik_B , I was wondering the reason you would put 8000ft for the 21W leg. I levelled off at 7000ft and flew by 21W and took some time for the video shoot. Because of that, I was off the route a few miles when the video session was up. And when I made the turn towards the next waypoint, I found I was surrounded by mountains no less than 6500ft. One of them could even be higher than 7000ft?!! Then I knew the reason for 8000ft… ;-))

@N702LE On the test run we crashed one of our 747-8 with generic levery at 7000ft. ;)
