By its colours, it´s an I-16 “Mosca” (“Fly”), from the Spanish Nationalist Movement (the good guys) of the Spanish Civil War, not Barbarossa :)

@Sturmovik… Your right Stomy. The Spanish “Republicans” where supported by the Soviets. By 1938 3000 Soviet Pilots formed a large part of the Republican Airforce and the I-6 was used widely in the attach role. They where outmatched by the ME-109’s supplied by Hitler who was aligned with Franco.
I used “Barbarossa” because it was a Front Line machine when Hitler made the mistake of going East. The I-6 is long forgotten but her legion lived on in the mind of the American who served in the International Brigade & Eagle Squadron. There some great books on the that period worth readding.
