Close up Spotting

Hey guys I have a peculiar question to ask. So many of you well maybe many of you have seen a video where a spotter is on a grass patch next to the runway and is close up spotting. If someone nows how this happens can you tell me how. I’m wondering on how to.
Here’s a video to help me explain me question…

I believe sometimes spotters get special permission from the airport to planespot on the airfield itself while escorted by security, but also airports like KIAD hold events that involve up-close planespotting.

At ATL there’s a bunch of good planespotting areas to begin with lol

I’ve been wondering about this as well. I wonder how one could get permission to do this.

Yeah I found 10 spots on spottersguide today I spotted at the south and north parking garages got to see lots and they even did a runway change which was really cool to see them do that.

I think you can send an email to your airport asking to do this, they might say yes depending on a couple of factors such as traffic.
