Citation X & 787-9: Still flying after all these years

To make a long story short, I ended up taking a break from IF (and really all other games) starting in 2018-19ish. I recently found out that IF was now free to play, so I decided to try it out again and had quite a bit of fun. Having mostly played on the Kindle Fire previously, which even back then, was quite outdated, it was amazing to see how far the app has come now that I can play the latest releases. I did, however, miss being able to fly my two favorite planes in the game: the Cessna Citation X and the 787-9. As such, I decided to power up the Kindle to see if I could still fly them on the old version, and sure enough, I could! (Though, admittedly, I was surprised the Kindle could still take a charge).

Realizing that I was in a bit of a unique situation of having a version of the game stuck in time soon after the December 2016 update (introducing the C-130), I thought it’d be fun to post a few screenshots showing IF 2016 in 2024. For this reason, I’ve included the HUD in the images as I found it fun to see how the game has changed (eg, now having menus for things like nav and AP, and no longer having the terrain version of the nav map). If necessary, I can crop out the HUD.

Great pictures! I can remember when IF still had the old Home Screen as I was playing infinite flight back then in 2019

Well, the 787-9 is still the same on the most up-to-date version of IF (except for gear tilt being added on 21.1), so you can still fly it on the current version.

Great stuff there, wish I had known about IF during that time!
