After reading @FlightGT’s thread about the relative lack of use of the new 3D airports in China, I decided to do a lesser-known route that China Southern Airlines flies from Wuhan, the capital of and largest city in China’s Hubei Province, and London-Heathrow, which also sees service by China Southern from the airline’s home at Guangzhou and Beijing-Daxing. With the addition of Wuhan, more routes between 3D airports can be done with China Southern’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, an aircraft that is often overlooked.
Server: Solo
Airline: China Southern Airlines
Aircraft: Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner
Origin: Wuhan Tianhe International Airport, Wuhan, China (WUH)
Destination: Heathrow Airport, London, United Kingdom (LHR)
Flight Number: CZ607
Route: ZHHH-EGLL
Seat: 43K (Economy)

Boarding at Tianhe’s Terminal 3. Wuhan, situated at the conflux between the Han and Yangtze Rivers, has established a reputation as the political, economic, financial, cultural, commercial, and cultural center of Central China, leading foreign sources to occasionally refer to it as the Chicago of China. Unlike its approximate American analog, Tianhe Airport has not acquired the reputation of being a nightmare to navigate the way O’Hare Airport has.
Leaving for LHR
Climbing over the Han River
Over Mongolia’s largest lake, Lake Khövsgöl
Entering Finnish airspace
Approaching the English coast during our descent into London
Landing at LHR
Parked at Terminal 4, on the south side of Heathrow
