On May 16th, Etihad Airways stunned the aviation community by announcing new flights from their base in Abu Dhabi, U.A.Eto Charlotte NC
, starting on May 4th, 2026! This new flight will be served 4 days a week on their B787-9 dreamliner. It was only a matter of time till this flight was replicated, and last monday was my turn
! I decided to this as a day flight since I didn’t have work and it was certainly one I’ll be doing again!

Just arrived in Charlotte after a quick 3:30 flight from Jackson
, which was coincidently my first time flying on Americans’ A319s! After some quick pictures at B concourse including a retro chrome 737-800, I wandered over to D concourse and was greeted by this gorgeous 2015 built dreamliner that has been flying with Etihad its whole operational career
We pushed back right on time, and soon after were rolling down 18L! We rotated very slowly and were off the ground with just about 2,000 ft left
Lunch time
as we passed over the North Carolina capital! Right as we flew over KRDU, I watched a Lufthansa A330-300 takeoff for its flight back home to Frankfurt
Just about 5 hours , a rewatch of Titanic, some instagram doomscrolling and half of Spiderman: No way Home, we pass over Greenlands’ west coast
between Nuuk and Kangarlussaq

Some hours later I woke up to the sunrise and sound of breakfast being chef’ed up in the galleys as we pass by Frankfurt!
Passing by Kuwait with about 2 hours to go
