I am trying to change my membership from monthly to yearly. If I end the subscription, will I loose my progress, or is there a way to change it without ending the subscription?

You can’t directly change from monthly to yearly. You have to wait for it to expire. Also, you won’t lose progress if you purchase it immediately. The only change is that you will be locked in regions and have access to a few aircraft. However, your grade will drop after a certain amount of time.
