Switching gears here with a flight to Tahoe in a bug smasher. Always enjoy flying out of Oakland, and Lake Tahoe is a beautiful airport to fly into!

Getting ready to start up the Skyhawk for our trip to Tahoe
Taxiing out for departure. The north side of OAK is home to a thriving general aviation community, being studded with single-aircraft hangars and larger facilities for business jets. JSX also has their terminal here and lands here, but takes off on the south side to comply with noise regulations.
Taking off from Oakland parallel with the daily FedEx MD-11F to Honolulu
Climbing over Berkeley
Cruising near Concord, California, headed towards the Sierra Nevada
Those mountains sure do look a lot larger closer up…
Final descent into TVL after clearing the mountains. I don’t know how they squeeze much larger airliners into somewhere like Aspen, with even gnarlier approaches.
Landing at Lake Tahoe
Taxiing over to the ramp after a 73-minute hop from the Bay
Out of the aircraft at a charming airport surrounded by picturesque mountains. Would definitely recommend it to general aviation enthusiasts.
