Cessna 172

I was wondering if someone knows the flaps and trim if needed because I want to have a short flight on the Cessna and the takeoff is horrible it slides to the side and landing is hard so I need a tutorial

No worries, I feel your pain! Make sure you’re using the rudder. Honestly depends on the trim. You should truly be using a lot. I tend to do about +5 on takeoffs. Mainly rudder though, it gets windy sometimes. If you have anymore trouble it could be a calibration or device issue!

Flaps 0. Trim I don’t usually mess with but I’d say 2-5% nose up trim

Ok thx I’ll try no flapsbecause I fly at Van Nuys airport

I tried no flaps and no trim and use rudder and still not

Your not suppose to use flaps on the 172. Try and calibrate your device!

I did do that

I typically drop one notch of flaps, seems to help!

Ok thx I’ll try

What takeoff speed

I go about 65 - 70

Make sure you are using rudder to keep yourself from slipping to the sides of the runway. I know it is hard to keep it straight as the 172 is a fairly light aircraft and with just the slightest crosswind on rotate can cause you to start slipping to the side. Just do your best and practice. Even I slip the sides when I take off with GA aircraft.

I can in real life too.

Takeoff is at 55 and climb at 80 at v 700 to cruise alt then no more than 120 for cruise. On landing flaps 10 speed and speed was around 45 i think.

@N1DG has more Cessna time than I do, but if I remember correctly, its be flaps up, rotate at 55-60, climb out at 73 and cruise somewhere between 105-120 knots (75% throttle). Taking off with flaps extended would simulate a short or soft field takeoff, whose procedures are slightly different. Landing will be done at full flaps, with approach and landing between 60-70 knots. These variables assume fairly normal conditions, and will change as external factors do.

Pretty much right. I do between 60-65 knots rotation flaps up, and between 75-80 knots on climbout. Approach speed I do about 70 flaps full.

I have a rule for all ga aircraft (except TBM) 30degrees trim up

That’s way to much trim

Takeoff is 55,no flaps, landing is 65 10 degrees flaps. Climb at 80 max vs is 700 and max cruise speed is 122.
