Center Frequency missing

Device: Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max
Operating system: iOS 18.5(22F76)

Infinite Flight 25.1.5 (14329) - FE06E13F - Apple iPhone 13,4

Connection: Personal hotspot from separate iPhone & Home wi-fi network. Either way, I can never know which way to connect will be stable (enough) way to run extended sim sessions. Both methods, invariably, 6 times out of 10, I’m dished an irrecoverable network disconnection to the sim. I plan on immediately following up this post with another pointing to this separate issue.

Phone State in-sim: Low Battery mode, Camera facing the sky, running Infinite Passengers for alerts, and IFAssistant for v-speeds, step-climbing, GPWS, PA’s, and RAAS. Both in background.

Issue: Been having a missing center frequency issue since 1 update and 2 hot-fixes ago, where even flying within the active center region, the frequency does not appear in the ATC comms menu. I’m being repeatedly hailed by active ATC controlling FIR’s to tune to 127.00, yet I’m physically unable to do so. I tap on the actively controlled airfields near my destination in order to attempt to find the center frequency, nothing.

Luckily, on a few occasions, I’ve managed to be close enough to my destination in that I’m able to tune to approach, approach hands me off to center if I’m still too far/high out, only then have I been able to use the auto Switch&Send command and properly tune into center.

I’ve had to resort to reaching out here on the IFC via direct message to the ATC users controlling the airfields, and kindly asking for their assistance in somehow reaching the atc controller on center, and letting them know I cannot see the frequency in order to tune to it. To mixed results, as I’ve already been dished a level 2, to which I had to appeal, and was granted a reversal.

It’s been suggested by the atc controllers that have replied to this issue, that I can “always resort to appealing the violation”. I do not want to have to resort to direct messaging users to mitigate a sim issue, and appeal violations every time I’m dished out a vio for this very issue. This would be an unreasonable expectation of service from an app that charges a monthly membership. I don’t have the time or the inclination to resort to appealing violations ad-infinitum.

I’m surprised I did not see this issue reported already, I cannot be alone in experiencing this issue.

I’ve already uninstalled/installed the sim twice, updated to hot-fixes as they’re released.

Hey!

The current main solution to the frequency issue (which is known) is to tune in from the map.

If you turn on the “airspaces” map overlay (by clicking on the gear icon), you can then click within the white boundary, then on the tag that appears. There should then be an option to tune in to the Center frequency provided you are within range.

I’ll give this a go and get back to you if its in-fact a “solution”. Hold off on marking it so.

Thanks
