Celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival!

For many of you living in East Asia, especially China, you will know today is the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is also known as the Mooncake Festival, because as the title suggests, mooncakes are a huge tradition on this day to be consumed as a sweet treat. On this day, the Chinese believe that the moon is at its brightest and fullest, which also coincides with the autumn harvest season.

Nice shots! But shouldn’t that be: glazing the mooncakes into Zhengzhou? :slight_smile:

We don’t really use glazing as a term, but rather: 在月饼上刷上蛋液, which would mean brushing mooncakes with egg wash. It felt awkward saying “Brushing the mooncakes into Zhengzhou”, so I decided not to go with it.

Wonderful trip report and photos! Mid-Autumn Festival is such unique experience I’ve been around a few over the years and even have had the chance to make Moon Cakes which was fun :face_savoring_food:
