THE HISTORY OF THE EXPERT SERVER ATC SCHEDULE
Lets wind the clock back over 3 years to where this famed system began…
Shortly after Global was released 3 and a half years ago Tyler introduced the Expert Server ATC Schedule where the aim was to have a daily main hub accompained by a few surrounding airports, often having a daily theme such as an Airline or a specific aircraft.
You can see the very first ATC Schedule below (30 October - 5 November 2017):
Since then we have been treated to a weekly recurring schedule integrated around the established Friday Night Flights system, with the occasional special schedule to acoomodate a new airline route or an update containing new scenery or new aircraft.
To begin with these schedule topic were open to public comment but they started to regularly contain complaints along the lines of “Region X / Airport XXXX is never featured/when will it be featured. Eventually Tyler had enough and since then the schedule topics have remained closed to public comment.
But even though this system has been for the most part hugely succesful, 1278 days later - or 183 weeks, we are clearing the ATC schedule for takeoff and clearing to land the new ATC Region Assignment system which will see IFATC controllers stationed in regions around the world given pilots the freedom to fly whereever they want. See the new ATC Region Assignments topic below:
As we head into this new system, I think its time we give Tyler and the IFATC Team a massive thank you for all the work they have done on the ATC side of Infinite Flight so far and hope that this new system will cause IFATC to continue to flourish.
