About Cayman Airways

Cayman Airways is the flag carrier of the Cayman Islands, a British Overseas Territory located in the central Caribbean. Operating from their main base at Owen Roberts International Airport in Georgetown on the island of Grand Cayman, it operates a variety of domestic inter-island and international services. The airline currently has a fleet of 8 aircraft, with the 737-MAX 8 making up the international fleet for the airline, with a total of 4 aircraft. Destinations are included from countries such as Barbados, the Cayman Islands, Cuba, Honduras, Jamaica, Panama, and the United States. Cayman Airways was the first airline to operate the 737-MAX family in the Caribbean.

About the Boeing 737-MAX 8

Developed to succeed the highly successful Boeing 737-800 of the 737 Next-Generation family, the 737-MAX 8 was the first variant in the 737-MAX family to be developed. Taking its first flight in January 2016, the MAX-8 entered into commercial service with Malindo Air in May 2017. It is the most popular variant of the 737-MAX family, which as of February 2024 has over 6,300 aircraft on order, with over 1,400 aircraft delivered to operators all around the world.

Why This Should be Added

In my opinion, this is one of, if not the most, colorful and beautiful liveries that is on the 737-MAX family. Representing a territory that does not have any current representation, I think that this would make for a great addition in being able to add some unique routes, this combined with the fact that the airline was the first to operate the type in the region holds some importance, and what I believe makes it worthy to be included when the aircraft type is added to the simulator in future!

As someone born in Cayman, I’d love to see this come to the game, especially since we have no cayman airway aircraft yet. I always remember watching the old 737-400s land as a kid! Definitely did its part in developing a passion for aviation in me, so cayman airways holds a special place in my heart.

I would always see Cayman Airways 737 MAX 8s whenever I land in Kingston, Jamaica both Caribbean and Cayman Airways have nice liveries.

Going to give this a bump as the MAX gets closer to release. We definitely need some cayman love, and the airline has some really nice scenic routes with this aircraft that would be super fun to fly!

Some routes included but not limited to:

Georgetown (MWCR) —> Denver (KDEN)
Georgetown —> Los Angeles (KLAX)
Georgetown —> Havana (MUHA)
Georgetown —> La Ceiba (MHLC)

I was born 03, and then we moved to Canada 09. Technically I could return and I could get dual citizenship.

Bumping this up now that we’ve seen the first livery for the MAX in development. Only chance of getting a Cayman Airways livery in the game is with the MAX, fingers crossed this is added.
