Hey everyone!

Welcome to my radar tracking thread!

Please forgive my Old Man knowledge for making IFC threads! I’m Derek and I am currently in the IFATC Radar training process.

The purpose of this thread is so I can home my skills as a radar controller on the TS outside of official IFATC training sessions.

I am really grateful for everyone’s time, your participation and feedback are highly valued and appreciated; thank you in advance!

Operating Procedures
Arrival Procedures: Please follow STARs (if available) and follow all instructions.

Your feedback is essential for my progress. Please share your experiences and suggestions for improvement. Constructive criticism (& abuse) is always welcome!!!

Notam:

Airport, runway(s) in use alongside any other information will be given each time I open.

Regardless of the winds, please only use the runways announced.

In order to develop, I encourage you to try and cause busts by selecting speeds likely to cause conflicts. Although, once I spot them, please adhere to the instruction.

Please use approximately +/-1500fpm for all climbs and descents. I am not responsible for any busts caused by excessive/ slow rates of climb or descent.

Please follow every instruction even if you are going to have a Terrain / Separation bust. I encourage you to park on the side of a mountain because that will help me get better!

Aircraft/ Aircraft busts <3nm and <1000ft unless both have been cleared for & established on an approach.

Aircraft/ terrain busts <1000ft AGL unless already cleared for & established on an approach.

Any blatant trolling will just be ignored.

Hey 👋

So when I open, I will tag the “Ping List” so they get a notification.

Then if they are willing and free, they can come and visit so I have aircraft to practice my radar skills on.

A ping list is a list that will @ all the people in it, so for example, if u were added to this ping list, when he starts you will be @ and will get a notification so you know that you can join…
