Canarsie Approach Action: Part 2 - 9/5/2020 @ KJFK

This is the second part of my spotting trip to JFK a week ago. This time, I will focus mainly on the many heavies I saw. You can view the first part here:

Airline: Emirates
Aircraft: Boeing 777-300ER
Registration: A6-EQJ

A sign of strange times, Emirates sending us their 777 instead of the normal A380.

Airline: Qatar Airways
Aircraft: Airbus A350-1000
Registration: A7-ANH

The ever-elegant A350 roaring overhead.

Airline: EgyptAir
Aircraft: Boeing 777-300ER
Registration: SU-GDL

Staring down the beast.

Airline: Aer Lingus
Aircraft: Airbus A330-300
Registration: EI-EIN

My first time spotting a go-around, standing right under it when it went TOGA power left my ears ringing.

Airline: Delta Air Lines
Aircraft: Boeing 767-400ER
Registration: N837MH

A reflective Delta 767 from Hotlanta.

Airline: All Nippon Airways
Aircraft: Boeing 777-300ER
Registration: JA736A

No such thing as too much 777.

Airline: Aer Lingus
Aircraft: Airbus A330-300
Registration: EI-EIN

The Aer Lingus A330 flying the new livery that went around earlier on final for the second time.

Airline: Swiss
Aircraft: Boeing 777-300ER
Registration: HB-JNB

The Swiss flagship on final after a transatlantic hop.

Impressive! The perspective reminds me of the In out Burger at LAX.

Nice shots! Any idea why the Aer Lingus went around?

Overshot the turn and ended up too left of the runway

Wow, great shots! Didn’t know you could get such angles at JFK…

It’s a bit of an unconventional spot and PAPD let us know airport ops might ask us to move.

We were near the black area, the red area being the “normal” place to spot arrivals on 13L

It is burning here in Atlanta :/
