Can they still see my messages?

Let’s say I’m 2,000 nm fom my departure airport and I’m still tuned to unicom. Will the aircraft still be able to hear or see my messages?

eg:

“C-HRIS is 2,463 nautical miles to the East at _____ feet. inbound blah blah blah”

-CSG

Just curious.

I believe so, yes

Yes, it is quite fun sometimes but if they are on the frequency, I’d assume so

It is possible but VERY VERY ANNOYING. Reason being if someone does something like AAAAAAAAAAAAAA is 6,789nm out at FL450 inbound for landing. Yes this is from experience.

Yes, it is possible. Saw a guy call into Sydney Unicom from 5,800 nm away once.

I’ve played around with this before with a few buddies. It’s possible, but please don’t do it. There’s no point, and if there are other people on the frequency, it can be annoying and confusing.
