Hi IFC, I have a quick question to do with the APU. I’m in the middle of a long haul flight at cursing altitude and forgot to turn the APU off once my engines were up and running after pushback. Now that I’m at 33,000 feet in the air would turning off the APU cause anything to happen? I don’t think it would lead to a fatal accident or anything like that, though I’m not sure what would happen. If someone could let me know so that I understand what actions to take that would be great.

APU should be turned off directly after both (or 1) engine is started on the ramp :)
And yes, you can still turn it off and be fine

Nope! Nothing should happen. The APU just powers the aircraft while the engines are off.

Okay that’s great! So turning it off now while flying wouldn’t cause anything wrong to happen? Is that correct?
