Can anyone explain the new trim indicator and does it interact with autopilot?

I’ve used it a bit on both the Citation, Q400, and Cirrus. On the Citation when I trimmed the indicator away the plane was perfectly balanced. On the the other two planes I had to retrim after coming off of autopilot. How’s the new indicator/trim system supposed to work now?

Same as it did. If you adjust your trim whike you have autopilot on, your plane will pitch in that direction. I recommend setting it with autopilot off for not sudden dips or climbs

Trim adjusts so that you do not need to hold the yoke so far forward or back. If you trim until the indicator is gone, you should be able to stay level when you hold your device at the same position you calibrated at.
