Can a pen width spider web stop a 747 in full cruising speed?

I was shown this today, and I find it absolutely fascinating.

I would not have imagined that a 747 in full cruising configuration and speed could have been stopped by a spider web that is no thicker than 3cm!

There’s a lot of “if…” in that sentence. I wouldn’t worry too much about a spider stopping your 747 from taking off. But yes, spider web is stronger than steel per weight.
