Hi all,
This might sound like a stupid question, and I’m not planning on trying this but: are callsigns that are retired IRL allowed in IF? Such as MH370, United 93, Asiana 214?
Once again, not planning on testing this. Just genuinely curious.

Couldn’t tell you if they’re allowed or not, but I can tell you that it would be extremely insensitive.
Hello,
I wouldn’t say they’re not allowed. To agree with then insensitive comment above, yes. After all, it is infinite flight so nobody can necessarily stop you from using that callsign or doing those flights. But think about that for a little while. Also ask yourself, would you do a flight like that or use a callsign like that if one or more of your family members were on one of those flights? Food for thought. Just my opinion.
While allowed, it is a controversial issue. Some people use them and others do not. Personally I will never use retired flight numbers unless conducting a remembrance flight as a sign of respect and dignity to those who have lost their lives.
It is really up to the user as it doesn’t fall under the inappropriate call signs rule.
I’ve seen people use callsigns like that before so it isn’t an issue in Infinite Flight.
People have been notorious for having much more semantic ‘loaded’ callsigns, you’re fine with using them (the ones you summed up) as only some will raise some eyebrows. But other than that you’ll be totally fine.
Thank you all for your replies. Exactly my thoughts, that it’s very insensitive, however not a offence in IF terms.
Most people don’t really care, you’re good.
