Every time I open the app, the Skyhawk is the default aircraft appearing. Why?

That is just the way the game is. The default aircraft is the C172. Are you having an issue with only the Skyhawk appearing?
The C172 will display as the default aircraft when the app is fully shut down via multitasking on iOS. If you complete a flight in say the A320 it the app will remember the last aircraft you used last.
Again, if you quit and shut the app down, the C172 will be the default aircraft.

No, but prior to a week or so ago, the aircraft was always the model last flown. Now the sim defaults to 172. Strange.
