A bushfire has started in the Blue Mountains, Australia and is threatening nearby towns, we need your help to stop it from going out of control! Whether you want to put out the fire with aerial firefighting, save the local residence with the air ambulance, secure the scene with polair or assist with managing the incident with the Incident Management Team, we have a role for you!
Welcome to IFR’s first event, for this scenario we are doing a mock bushfire to the West of Sydney. This has been chosen to display the capabilities of the organisation and encourage more people to join and experience what it’s like to be a first responder.
Note: timing is fluid, we will allow the event to start and finish as the event seems fit with participants.

Event Type: Multi-agency operation.
Departure airport name and code: Richmond RAAF (YSRI) or Bankstown airport (YSBK).
NOTAMs
- Applications close 12 hrs before the event (1100Z).
- All pilots will receive access to the IFR events server and joining instructions.
- This event will be run by a designated Incident Controller from IFR, pilots are to follow instructions at all times.
