I can’t speak exactly for the IF devs but for programs and apps in general, developers and programmers almost always build around the resources(as in the types of devices and the capabilities and power of those devices) that they are targeting. For example I’m building a portable heart rate monitor for my biomedical engineering course and the coding that I do to calculate the heart rate is a special algorithm developed by my team and I so that it can be handled with the type of computer we will use for the portable heart rate monitor. I’m pretty sure the devs will have done something similar and worked around the power and capabilities of the current generation of smartphones. The implementation of Metal and Vulcan will also help with rendering textures and objects, so hopefully we won’t take too much of a performance hit.
