53. Sipadan Island

The next destination on the list is a small uninhabited island off the East Coast of Sabah, Sipadan. This island might be uninhabited, however there is thousands of tourists who visit the island every year, this is because it is home to some of the most diverse marine life in the region. Divers from across Asia look to dive in Sipadan one day, including myself. The only structure on the island is a pier for the dive boats to drop divers off at. When you stay at Sipadan Island you have to fly to the nearest airport in Tawau and then get a ferry to your hotel, the hotel is very unique however as it is not connected to any land, it sits on stilts above a small sand bank (google it, it is cool to look at). So pack your snorkels, or if you will be diving do not forget your regs, cause we are heading to Malaysia!

Hey how about you come visit IDA, idk about any direct routes to SLC, the filtering airport, from Hong Kong but you can find a route, I know that the delta a220 frequently lands here so that’s a chance for you to fly that with this challenge
I think a good route would be HKG-SLC-IDA
but we also have flights direct from Dallas, usually an American crj7, so another route is HKG-DFW-IDA

Upon research neither of those airports have pax flights from hkg, dfw had a cargolux flight but that’s it, so the prime routing would have to be as follows

Cathay A350-1K (900 in game) HKG-JFK, delta A321/B739 or jetblue A320 JFK-SLC, delta crj7/e175/a220-300 (or 100) SLC-IDA

We can definitely do this, since the challenge is using routings that are Pre-COVID (because alot of airlines stopped flying to HK due to strict COVID policies, it would just end up being the same flights to connect onwards) we can use the American Airlines flight from Hong Kong to DFW on the B777-300ER (one of the fatalities due to COVID). Thank you for your contribution of Idaho Falls, I will add that to the list now! Would you like me to PM you when we get this destination on the randomiser?

Sure I’d be happy to see it happen

Thank you so much! Btw when you land in Redmond, they are doing work on the 5, 23 runway so you have to land 29 or 11 if you want to make it realistic. Again, thank you so much!

If you wanted a possibility for a route, I’d say check out Fiji. It is a stunning place.

I completely agree, Fiji was one of my contributions as well! Can not wait for that one, I am actually looking at flights to go there IRL when everything opens up so my plan is to use the actually flights I would choose as the route for that destination!

55. Lima

The next destination is the capital of Peru, Lima! This beautiful city laying on the coast, looking out upon the Pacific Ocean, offers some fantastic views as the buildings very quickly turn to cliffs that quickly fall to the golden beaches. This city is very popular with tourists who wish to see the history of this beautiful country, with sites such as Huaca Pucllana, Plaza De Armas De Lima and Basílica y Convento de San Francisco de Lima.
