Yes that’s how is should look. The text inside the colon is just an emoji that didn’t appear. For ex: :happy_face:

No, they should not , because of the discourse formatting that the IFC chose, emoji’s will only appear when written from an iOS native device using the “emoji” section of the keyboard.

And to further add on, this feature is not available anymore, thus we see Unicode instead of the emoji.
