British Airways Returns To Newark

British Airways Returns To Newark

British Airways had removed Newark service at the beginning of the pandemic, and now is planning on adding it back in November. Along with some other major destinations like LA and Miami, Newark will be added to the list of USA destinations for the airline. As the airline quotes “the airline continues to adapt to changing restrictions around the globe as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic,” they also commented on this;

“The risk of contracting Covid-19 during a flight is incredibly low. IATA, the global aviation industry! Anybody, suggests that since the start of 2020 there have been as few as 44 cases of Covid-19 linked to flights. Over the same period some 1.2 billion passengers have travelled. This figure amounts to one case for every 27 million travellers.

“We believe the best way to get people flying again is to introduce reliable and affordable testing before flying. When this happens and demand returns, we stand ready to reintroduce even more destinations to our network, and carry on connecting even more families, friends and businesses.”

They’ve been serving Newark for a few weeks now…

Quoted the same thing twice, too. Not sure how much I trust this source, but I guess it’s true?

Pretty sure a couple of Tui flights had these amount together

Those services have been cargo I think… could be wrong

Not with that low of a flight number, BA184 is a regularly scheduled passenger service from Newark to London.

British Airways has been operating their cargo-only flights with standard flight numbers. For example, while passenger LHR-DFW was suspended through July 15, they operated cargo-only flights to DFW with BA192/193

In this case, Newark looks to be an upcoming passenger resumption:

Services will continue to operate to US gateways including New York JFK, Boston, Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco, with Newark added to the schedule.
