Brake Difference

Is pulling down in the rudder and pushing the brake button the same thing?

They are not, breaks are the things that help slow your wheels down. While rudders help move your plane side to side

You can pull down on the rudder button and it works as a break.

@Hinata You can use either one you want. I’ve never personally noticed any difference between the two.

So there is no difference. Well I almost all the time only use reverse though.
Thanks for the info;)

I’m confused - if you pull the rudder, won’t your plane swerve in that direction? I’ve never understood rudder braking like that.

Yah but, it’s like real life. You just pull down the rudder sliders down.

But then doesn’t the plane swerve…?

It takes some getting used to but you’ll love it once you do get used to it.

Maybe practice in solo?

It’s very helpful for runway exits as trying to tap the brake button can be challenging when controlling the aircraft.

It’s so much better than taking your finger off the rudder, having to tap “brakes” and then hope you haven’t veered off of the runway.

It’s confusing to people not familiar with it, I was in that same boat. If you click on the rudder tab and slide down to the bezel of your device (part in between the edge and the screen of your device) then the braking will start to take effect. It’s good for times when you need to use the rudder and brake at the same time so a lot of people use it for taxiing. The sliding rudder does the same as the brakes though so it’s not progressive braking or anything so just use whichever is best for you.
