Welcome to my airport editing thread. This is where I will post about all my airports that I am working on/ have worked on and a little information about them. This is in hopes that once they are released little details like current routes and aircraft, traffic movements and other details I have learnt researching the airport can be used. There is no promises that there will be WIP shots in this thread as I like to keep the surprise factor. I will update this thread as I continue to develop more and more airports. If an airport is marked “Ready For Release” this does not mean it will be out in the next update.

Moving forward this list will grow but whenever a new airport is being worked on I will add below a short description and a few details of the airport. But at the time of writing since 2 of the airports are already underway I will post the details about them below.

Inhambane Airport

Inhambane Airport is a small airport that is located in the Jangamo District in Mozambique, servicing the Inhambane Province. This airport provides 3 scheduled passenger routes with the local airline Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique, S. A. (LAM Mozambique). This airport has some stunning views on approach as you descend along the beaches of Tofo before aligning yourself with the runway. However, despite its small size this airport has the capabilities to accept international arrivals from Johannesburg, a flight I have been on when visiting the Province. This was my first airport and was chosen based on the fact that I had been there and had pictures and the memory of how the airport was laid out.

Oki Airport

Oki Airport is a small airport that is located 3km from the town of Okinoshima, on Dōgo, one of the Oki Islands. This airport is a domestic airport that offers 2 daily services through Japan Airlines and Japan Air Commuter to the mainland. This airport, being located in the Oki islands, this airport offers some fantastic views, which is evidenced by the fact that the Oki Islands were made a UNESCO Global Geopark back in 2013. This airport might be small but is a lot of fun to fly to!

Savusavu Airport

Savusavu Airport is a tiny airport located on the of Vanua Levu in Fiji. Servicing the town of Savusavu, in the Cakaudrove province, means that despite its size, receives daily flights from Fiji Airway’s subsidiary, Fiji Link. Being in Fiji, there is always the guarantee of some absolutely stunning views, as well as some nice connections through Nadi to places such as Singapore and Sydney on Fiji Airways A350-900. To many divers such as myself this is surely on the list of places to visit, in fact, I was looking at flights to here if quarantine dropped by now. Unfortunately it did not, but I still get to visit there in IF through editing! I hope you enjoy this airport as much as I know I will editing it!

Phuket International Airport

Phuket International Airport is a decently sized airport on the West coast of Thailand. Serving Phuket City and the Province of Phuket. For those of you who have not heard of Phuket, for many Asian countries this region is one of the biggest beach getaway destination. If you mention Phuket to anyone in South East Asia, they either have been themselves or someone they know has been. And there is a few reasons for this, beautiful beaches, luxury resorts, fantastic scuba diving and wild parties. I personally have been many times on Rugby tours, Cricket tours and for Scuba Diving. It is clearly loved domestically as well with over 6 million passengers per year flocking to Phuket from Bangkok alone.

It should be good, it is a really cool airport and I still have some pictures of it that can help me. But lets see how I do with the roof, might get closer than you think, I do have some ideas.

Hey mate, really appreciate the enthusiasm, I really do, but as stated in each of the updates

But, if you want to utilise Mozambican airports, Inhambane (FQIN) came out in 22.7, so feel free to use any of the routes I have listed to fly to it!

Released Airport

I am happy to announce that Savusavu and Oki have both been released in 22.8!

Update on Phuket

Unfortunately Phuket has been coming along slower than expected due to personal commitments IRL. I will be travelling today with 7 hours in Heathrow and a few hours in other airports. So will smash out some editing in that time to get at minimum the Phuket 2D done. It is nearly there just need to add some of the service roads and dirt roads going around the perimeter. I want to make sure the detail is there for an airport that has so much potential. I will post a before and after WIP for the 2D once finished so everyone can see where it is at.

Phuket is for South East Asia as Goa is to India both very popular wedding and vacation destinations in that part of the world much like the Us has the Caribbean

It absolutely is! I have enjoyed many holidays there and I can tell you, it is a beautiful and stunning place! I can not count how many people I know have gone or are going to Phuket before year end now Hong Kong has lowered travel restrictions!

Update on Phuket

I have been a little busy with IRL commitments, however I am hoping get back on the horse and have the 2D finished and ready to show some WIP comparisons soon. This is a complete overhaul (deleting everything and starting from scratch) for the 2D, hence why it has taken so long.

I have also started streaming the process of making Phuket, please feel free to DM me for details!

I can not confirm nor deny if I will work on NFFN, I have a long list of airports I personally would like to see 3D for various reasons, if you would like to DM me I would be more than happy to share this list. But for now this is not necessarily something I would like to make public.

Sibulan (Dumaguete) Airport

Sibulan Airport is a small commercial airport in the Negros Oriental region of the Philippines. It serves the city of Dumaguete and the surrounding areas and allows tourists from around the region to access some beautiful scuba diving and snorkelling locations such as Apo Island. Which means yes, I am continuing the trend of working on airports with Scuba Diving tourism! I have personally been to this airport and I highly recommend flying into it once it is complete as it can offer some nice views as you come into land along the coast. My plan moving forward is to have one Medium to Large scale airport and one Mini (GA) to Small scale airport running at the same time. This way I do not get bored of laying the same parking lot lines endlessly in the same region and offer myself some variation.
