LAX memories with the -400. Would be nice to recreate some of these with a reworked Queen.
Unfortunately they don’t go off votes anymore. Instead whenever they decide to rework the next aircraft it’d be in the form of a poll (most likely against the B767 where the B767 will once again lose.)
So whats the point in voting ha
Such a beauty ![]()
Really hoping to see IF focus on classic aircraft.
I was lucky enough to fly on this special livery JAL 747-400 from YVR to NRT on my first trip to Asia. That flight was an unforgettable experience, and it would be amazing if this livery was added!
Because it’s better than doing nothing.
Gonna keep posting 747s to stoke the fire and keep us on-topic. These are, respectively, VH-EBA, named City of Canberra, in March 1981, and VH-ECA, named City of Sale. Both of these aircraft are landing at LAX, EBA in September 1981 and ECA in March 1985. That Hyatt is still there 44 years later.

B-HMD at Melbourne in 2007 in the Silver Bullet livery of Cathay Pacific Cargo. Crazy to think that they were operating 747 Classics as late as the late 00s. I know Atlas didn’t get rid of theirs until 2012-2013 and Kalitta’s stuck around until 2017, but an airline at the bleeding edge of the industry keeping these warhorses (I originally wanted to say fossils, until I remembered its the Queen of the Skies I’m talking about here, not some clapped-out 727 you’d swear was built from the parts of 3 separate 727s) flying was something else.
From the fabulous Brothers of LAFlights Live!
Our big lovable queen in her Lufty livery running out of 24L at LAX. I love the head on shot of the “Big Slumber” 380 against the sleek big girl. And check that Korean Queen silky butter landing! Smooooth!
Her real colors…
Just sublime! Flew on this old girl more than i care to remember. Class, Style and comfortable.
Not a knock off or a clean slate design either. She has carbon composite wings, a much lighter fiber/wire pack system, state of the art on-board systems and use of lighter - stronger heat treated Aluminium throughout her structure. The -8 is a remarkable piece of machinery and will be around for many years to come!
Few 747 spots I’ve had last year and this year
Singapore Cargo 747 over Geelong
UPS 747 infront of 2 A380’s at Sydney
Singapore cargo 747 at Melbourne
