I love the old CPA livery and the RB-211’s. It’s a shame not many airlines chose it.
Always baffled me that by now the 747 rework still ain’t happening, I mean many things can be said about it but it’s literally the queen of the skies, an icon that flies as beautiful as she looks… that should be enough said. The disrespect and snubbing of the 747 on IFC is crazy and there’s no other aircraft more legendary and more deserving of a proper rework in IF than the 747.
Just remember that it almost happened- community members voted on an a380 rework instead. It’s still in the developers minds though, so don’t worry. I’ve never heard anyone disrespect the 747 by the way. True aviators love it and respect is as well. Not sure who you saw saying bad stuff about it on here.
Virgin technically still owns an active 747 and its the one which launched the rocket into orbit. It’s from Virgin galactic though
Same bro, I’m just blown away that there has not been a drop of 747 rework news and how bad some people treat the 747 and its legacy to aviation.
The 747 was placed 4th out of 5 in that poll, so it wasn’t nearly “almost got reworked”.
Yeah in the last heavy battle but look at this here, I really wish for us all that she will be reworked next yeah
graphic made from the very last votes from the IFC
We all knew there was no way the A380 wasn’t losing that one. Don’t get me wrong, I love the A380 and all, but I’m willing to bet that a lot of people voted for it so they could act like idiots on the casual server.
Just noticed there isn’t even supposed to be a door back there lol. I agree the tail needs to be less stubby but for a different reason. I think this is needed so the airplane can pitch higher on rotation like it can in real life with more clearance. It can pitch like 5 - 10 degrees irl, and barely going over 5 in game feels like a tailstrike even at high speeds.
Recently by chance, I saw one of the devs fly a “mystery aircraft” in-game from LEBL-KJFK, I sure do hope it’s the 747, just imagine the possibilities with the 747, to be able to fly a giant yet graceful quadjet both short and long distances, hopping between islands or trotting across oceans, every aircraft has something going on for it, but words cannot describe how the 747 is, it’s just unique, it has aura and presence like no other…
Also, in addition to the 747-8, separate the 2 variants, as the passenger and Cargo verison have different payload configurations and flight range. On top of it all, improve the fuel burn efficiency, ESPECIALLY the Dash 8 as it’s suppose to be the most efficient than the older models. I can barely go up a higher flight level because of the inefficient fuel burn. And they should update the engine sound. The newer GE NX-2B suppose to sound like the 777/787 engines.
And to add to my thoughts, since doing a rework on an airliner is a huge undertaking, it maybe easier to just rework the 747-8, due to its modern technological advancements. It maybe be challenging to rework and older model, but I maybe stand corrected.
Hence, to add to the fun they should feature all the liveries that the 747 ever have from its inception. Example a Pan-Am from the current 747-200 can be converted to a fictional 747-8i. Migrate all the liveries from all current 747 models into the hopefully rework -8. Would be cool to fly it with even non 747 airliners. Hawaiian Airlines would be a cool livery on the 747-8
That’s absolutely not going to happen. We don’t want to become an RFS in terms of liveries, do we? Especially on an aircraft as iconic as the 747…
Come on, a Ryanair A380 would be cool 👀
If we’re really talking about that, the only livery I’d make an exception for is a Ryanair 717 before a rework.
Haha I’m jk, far from me IF becoming a rfs 2.0
Forgive me, what’s RFS? I mean no disrespect for all the 747 variants, it would be nice to have a more realistic flying and handling with the proper fuel burn. I couldn’t help but I couldn’t stand the fact that the Infinite flights’s 747-8 burns more fuel than the 400. It’s breaks my heart even more that 200 is more fuel efficient than the -8 and it flys similar a similar range in the simulator as the 8.
The 747-8 has technologies from the past and it has Ben modernized, incorporating some elements from the 787. It’s even proven to fly more efficient, though a quad jet.
This the fuel burn guide for the infinite flight airliners. You’ll be surprised when comparing the fuel flows of each of the 747 variants.
