I thought only the paint job was scrapped, not the entire aircraft

Sad but not surprising

So the VC-25A has to be reworked and that take a year or two to do all of the 747s

747-8 AF1 not ended. Just paintjob due high prices of maintenance.
USAF said delivery should be at the end of 2024.
And Blue livery fits more for 25A not 25B… 25B must have red blue…

No the Boeing 747-8 is still going to be made into the next generation air force one. the plane will still have the same livery as the current one now. Former US president Donald trump created a different livery paint for the new plane but the biden administration and the us air force will not approve of the new design.
