Boeing 747 Combi

I just found out about this on Smithsonian’s Air Disasters.

This aircraft is a passenger jet and a cargo in one. It has the normal cargo hold in the fuselage and in the back of the aircraft.

Due to new rules and regulations aircraft with combi configurations will not be allowed into the US anymore.
That is one of the reasons KLM is phasing them all out. :(

There where specullations about Air to Air missile on board may explode in Cargo room (There was a war at this time in Africa )

Yep that was what I was watching the disaster of the Helderburg.

Yeah they were not able to fly in there airspace so yes they went around.
